My name is Nan Stegall and my husband Michael and I live in a small cottage nestled in the North Georgia Mountains surrounded by a beautiful lake. It is an ideal place to create my wonderful babies.
I bought my first reborn baby two years ago and began creating my own soon afterward. Each artist has their own techniques and because I made porcelain dolls for years I had always worked with paints. It has been a learning process developing my own techniques and with each baby I create I have learned something new.
It has been a wonderful journey and I never know who will be born as I start each new blank canvas. With each layer of paint I watch the personalities become more prominent. It is such a wonder to me how each newborn baby becomes a different personality. No two are ever alike. Even twins always are a little different.
The art of reborning is relatively new and it is constantly evolving. I have studied many artists techniques and have learned from some of the best. I am very happy to have my little darlings loved by many.
This lovely art form has become my passion and a wonderful way to enjoy life. I have created many babies and am very proud of them.
They were born with love and patience and lots and lots of work. I love bringing them to life and try to infuse as much personality into each of them that I possibly can. I use a variety of different painting techniques depending on the look I want to achieve. I ensure that only the best materials are used on my babies.
