I am very please to present my newest baby girl Grace Leigh. Grace is reborn from Reva Schick’s Maya sculpt. This is one of  the most realistic kits I have done. This sculpt is beautifully done with fat wrinkled limbs that just added to the overall effect of a real baby.

Grace was such a pleasure to create. I am very pleased with her. She is the size of a 0 to 3 month old infant. I used polyfiber and glass beads for weighting her. I made her a bit heavy so that she would indeed feel real in your arms. I left her head a bit wobbly for more realism.

I love dressing her and she fits into 0 to 3 months baby clothing. I love dressing her. I had the black/white taffeta dress made especially for her.

Grace’s eyes are a beautiful Victorian blue and circled by long lashes. I used the more peaches and cream complexion but did use many layers to achieve a mottling technique that small infants have. I am very happy with her complexion. I took her to a baby clothing store to shop for shoes and more than one person paid me the high compliment of thinking she was a real baby. That is definitely a great feeling to any reborn artist. Several people had to hold her. It is always a delight to hear people really like your work. I think Grace definitely is one of my best babies so far.

I used high quality angora  in a soft baby blond with some curl for her hair. Her hair is micro rooted using only a few strands at the time to enhance the real baby look. It is soft and easy to care for. I sealed it from the inside of the head so that her new Mommy can gently shampoo and style if needed. I also added not only a magnet for her paci but also one for a  hair bow.

I use the Genesis Heat set paints so that the end result is durable and  lasting.  It takes many layers of paint to achieve the mottling effect you see on Grace.

As I start out with a blank canvas, it is always surprising the twists and turns a baby will take before the personality starts to emerge. With each layer of paint you start to see the personality start to appear. Grace has a quiet expression. I think she is a sweet baby girl, just waiting to be picked up.

I have developed my own technique and learn even more with each new baby. With Grace I added a bit more color with that pale blond hair.

Each tiny wrinkle has been enhanced with color to appear more prominent You just want to reach out and pinch those fat little wrinkles.

She was given a “manicure” and “pedicure” with added shine for total realism. I also gave her some very subtle veining. Her little feet look so real with the added color for emphasis.

I had such a lovely time bringing Grace Leigh  to life. There is just something special about babies. You want to seal that innocence and beauty forever. And with my reborn I try to do that.

Each of my babies come to you  tucked gently in with a favorite toy and  their clothing. Each of my babies have their individual birth certificates and care instructions.

I hope you have enjoyed Grace Leigh’s photo shoot. She was truly a pleasure to bring to life. I enjoyed our journey together very much.

Postage inside the USA will be $25.00 and will include insurance as each of these babies are precious.

Each one of my babies are one of a kind. I stand behind my integrity as an Artist and am proud to present each  new creation with passion and love.
These babies will become heirlooms and will last a lifetime.
